About Carers WA:
Carers WA is the peak body representing the needs and interests of carers in Western Australia and is part of a national network of Carers Associations providing a range of support services, supporting Carers across Western Australia.
Position: Regional Coordinator - Esperance Region
This is a full-time, fixed-term contract until 30 June 2026.
The position attracts a salary package of $88,000 p.a., plus super and salary packaging, 5 weeks annual leave and two wellness days per annum.

The Regional Coordinator role is responsible for providing access to information, capacity building, increasing networks of support and building resilience to empower carers in regional Western Australia.
The role will work closely alongside the Carer Gateway Program, providing support with emergency respite referrals, caseload management, Carer Star assessments and assisting support planners to source and arrange service coordination.
The role will also educate family carers, service providers and mainstream organisations (including local councils, schools, etc.)
around the important role of unpaid carers and the assistance that is available for them.
This position involves a significant outreach component, which may involve working remotely or in isolated settings.
Additionally, the role may involve exposure to challenging conversations or discussions around suicidal ideation, necessitating the ability to manage such conversations, utilise de-escalation techniques and set appropriate boundaries.
Selection Criteria:
Qualification relevant to the role or at least 2 years' experience working in a similar role within the not-for-profit community sector.
Experience working with carers, people who are aged, have a disability, mental health issues and/or chronic illness.
High level communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Proven ability to encourage and build team spirit amongst staff, bring about mutual respect and cooperation.
Proficiency using computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, and/or customised client databases, as well as virtual communication modes (phone, skype, Zoom).
