Position Summary: As a Carer Engagement Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting and engaging our carers, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any issues they may encounter. You will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with carers, providing assistance with administrative tasks, and promoting a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will have a background in HR, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a genuine interest in supporting carers' well-being. Responsibilities: Conduct regular check-in calls with carers to assess their experience and address any issues or concerns they may have regarding emails, compliance documents, or other administrative tasks. Provide guidance and support as needed.Assist carers with filling in documents, particularly addressing language barriers or literacy challenges, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Aid carers in accessing and utilising computer systems for training courses, such as RAH (Risk Assessment and Hazard) courses, to enhance their skills and knowledge. Facilitate the booking of compliances, including police checks and first aid certifications, by providing guidance and necessary information, but not performing these tasks on their behalf. Engage with carers through a rewards app to recognise and celebrate milestones such as birthdays, anniversaries, and exceptional performance, fostering a sense of appreciation and motivation. Proactively communicate and address issues with carers who demonstrate attendance problems, lateness, incomplete duties, or substandard performance. Collaborate with Care Managers and HR to develop appropriate strategies for improvement. Conduct discussions with carers to identify their values and motivations related to their job performance during the initial 30, 60, and 90 days of employment. Explore potential incentives such as pay, vouchers, or time off to enhance job satisfaction and performance. Provide a supportive ear and offer resources or referrals to carers who may be experiencing personal difficulties or challenges at home, demonstrating empathy and compassion. Gather feedback from carers regarding their experiences, concerns, and suggestions, and communicate this feedback effectively to managers for continuous improvement. Collaborate with HR, Care Managers, and Training Departments to identify carers' training needs and address mental health issues, ensuring the overall well-being and professional development of the caregiving team. Attributes: Background in HR with a strong understanding of HR principles and practices. Mature and relatable individual who can build trust and rapport with carers. Previous experience in counselling or a related field is advantageous. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathise and provide support to individuals from diverse backgrounds. Strong organisational and administrative abilities, including attention to detail and time management. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Proficiency in using computer systems, email, and relevant software applications. Empathetic listener and problem solver with a proactive approach to addressing challenges. Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards in the caregiving industry is preferred. A genuine interest in supporting and improving the well-being of carers and contributing to a positive work environment.
