About the Facility Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong's CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region.
Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.
The Aboriginal Health Unit and team is located with University Hospital and provide support and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inpatients and their families.
The Aboriginal Workforce Officer (AWO) oversees the implementation of the Aboriginal Employment Plan and has regular contact with all Aboriginal employees and their Supervisors and Managers, acting as a cultural consultant and mentor.
The AWO also actively encourages prospective work areas within Barwon Health to engage Aboriginal jobseekers and supports the local Aboriginal community in regards to recruitment, workplace wellbeing and professional development.
