Location: CBU Competition Number: 29 Deadline: June 30, 2024 at 11:59 pmCape Breton University invites applications for the Career Development, Employer Engagement Specialist in the department of Career Service. This is a Full-Time Continuing Role commencing August 1 st or soon thereafter.
The Career Services team at CBU assist students from academic life to career launch. Our team comprises dedicated Student Development Officers and Student Placement Officers who offer a range of services tailored to your needs.
The Career Development, Employer Engagement Specialist will work with the Career Services team in collaboration with key stakeholders, both internal and external, in order to maintain and develop productive external employer relations. With student experience and effective recruitment being a focus of this position, the incumbent will maintain existing employer relationships and expand connections in all sectors, specific to Cape Breton University's graduate outcomes.
Qualification of this role are:
Bachelor's degree in related field preferredMinimum 5 years of experience in work integrated learning or a related fieldCareer Practitioner Certification considered an assetMinimum 2 years-experience in student placement and employer relations or equivalentExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent time-management and problem-solving skills, and attention to detailAbility and desire to work independently in a fast-paced environment and complete multiple tasks and a large volume of work in a timely and effective mannerThe ability to work well with others, both internally and externally, from a wide variety of backgroundsSome evening and weekend work requiredSkilled in using Microsoft OfficeAbility to learn new software programs quickly and effectivelyExperience planning and facilitating sessions and career-related events, both large and small for a variety of stakeholders, including employers and studentsStrong understanding of talent management and campus recruitmentApplications for the successful candidate will include:
