About the opportunity:As a Career Consultant, you will form part of a team that gets a real buzz out of helping people develop and achieve their end goal of gaining further skills and ultimately, sustainable employment. You'll be there to offer end-to-end support at every stage of their employment journey and feel a rightful part of their success.
Based in Chatswood and reporting to the Team Leader, the Career Consultant plays a critical, hands-on role in ensuring candidates feel supported throughout their journey and are fully prepared for meaningful employment opportunities.
You will manage and develop your own caseload of jobseekers, assisting them to overcome various personal barriers that have been preventing them from gaining employment, and work with your colleagues and local employers to find innovative ways to support your jobseekers into work.
You will support your caseload of candidates through all stages of their employment pathway and make sure they fully understand the employment preparation and placement requirements and pathways available, including referral to local health and community services as required, training, resume and interview preparation, and providing coaching and development to support.
The role is targeted with KPIs around sustainable job placements that meet clients' needs and expectations.
To be successful in this role, you should have: Experience working within the employment services sector, ideally within Disability Employment Services (highly regarded), WFA, Jobactive, TTW, or ParentsNext.Lived or working experience in supporting disadvantaged individuals.End-to-end case management experience and familiarity with the ESS database.An insight and understanding into the significant barriers facing people living with a disability.The ability to mentor and coach jobseekers through the job search process.Demonstrated qualities of resilience, empathy, integrity, and compassion.A results and outcomes-focused approach and the ability to work to KPIs and targets.Excellent time management and organisational ability.Effective written and oral communication skills.Current Drivers Licence and be able to obtain a clear National Police Check, a Working with Children Check, and NDIS Worker Screening check.Applications:To apply for this position, please forward your resume through the "Apply" button.
