About the role: An opportunity for one (1) x Career Advisor to be part of our Health and Wellbeing Hub for the Southern Region, located in Dandenong.
The Health and Wellbeing Hub is the single most significant investment in the health, safety, and wellbeing of Victoria Police employees to prevent and respond to work related injuries. Six multi-disciplinary teams are being established, based in hubs across the state, with a focus on enhancing employee's mental health, injury prevention, early intervention, and recovery support.
This newly created position offers an exciting opportunity to support Victoria Police employees. You will work on the ground in our Police Stations, travelling across the region frequently to meet our people where they are located.
The Career Advisor will provide strength-based career education and development interventions to support manager capability and uplift, employee career growth, job enrichment, and transition, empowering employees, and managers, promoting positive mental health outcomes. The incumbent will deliver group career training workshops and webinars for employees and managers, and will offer tailored one-on-one career coaching sessions, career education and development on a range of topics employing relevant career strategies and interventions to promote career enrichment and wellbeing.
Reporting to the Hub Manager, the Career Advisor will work closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders, including the Career Advisory Lead, their Health & Wellbeing Hub colleagues, and regional members, to ensure high level care coordination for employees.
The position will be required to operate in a highly agile work environment to meet the varied needs of the business within their allocated region and whilst experience in mental health and wellbeing education would be beneficial, it is not necessary.

Your duties will include: Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to enhance the health, safety, and well-being of employees through proactive career advisory support. Conduct one-on-one career coaching sessions to facilitate informed career decisions and transition pathways tailored to individual development and goals. Assist in creating and delivering career education resources, including workshops, webinars, and online tools, catering to the diverse needs of employees. Cultivate productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, employing an adaptable approach to empower employees and foster confidence. Stay updated on emerging trends in career development and transition pathways through ongoing professional development and participation in community of practice meetings. Contribute to the enhancement of career development programs by actively participating in initiatives focused on continuous improvement and meeting stakeholder expectations. As the successful applicant, you will have: Demonstrated experience and proven ability in delivering a wide range of career support interventions, both individually and facilitating group career workshops and programs, with an understanding of impacts of mental health on employment. Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders. Exceptional interpersonal abilities, with a track record of establishing and maintaining productive working relationships in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Proficiency in delivering best practice career education and transition interventions across various platforms, adhering to industry standards and ethical codes. Proven ability to engage and build rapport with diverse stakeholders, ensuring professional relationships are managed effectively, while also monitoring client and stakeholder satisfaction, and adeptly handling stakeholder issues. A relevant degree/tertiary qualification or minimum Cert IV in Career Development would be highly desirable and/or a minimum 7 years' experience in a Career Development/Education field or role.
