THE ROLE The Care Support Help Desk (CSHD) Advanced Worker reports to the CSHD Coordinator and works closely with the CSHD team.
The position also works closely with Child Protection, Care Services, Kinship Engagement Teams, Out of Home Care Service providers and Peak organisations to support best outcomes for children in statutory care.
The CSHD provides critical support activities for children in all care types with a focus on children entering care.
The CSHD improves the consistency and timeliness of information, supports and document sharing, particularly critical identity documents for children in care such as birth certificates and Medicare cards.
A dedicated phone line operates in each division as a contact point to assist carers in navigating care processes and assist in identifying placement vulnerabilities and escalate issues/concerns on behalf of carers to the most appropriate program/services.
The Care Support Help Desk Team provides support to unallocated kinship carers through active outreach and providing vital documentation relating to the children in their care. COVID-19 VACCINATION
The department strongly recommends (but does not mandate) that employees maintain their COVID-19 vaccination status in accordance with current ATAGI (Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation) advice, given their individual circumstances.
As of June 2023, DFFH does not require evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status.
