Expression of Interest (EOI) to join Council's Multicultural Advisory Group (MAG)Cardinia Shire Council is looking for community members to join the Multicultural Advisory Group. This group will help the Council with issues related to multiculturalism, diversity, and inclusion.The purpose of the MAG is toGive feedback on Council policies and decisions.Find the best ways to communicate with multicultural communities.Help the Council create a welcoming and inclusive culture.Build and improve partnerships to support multicultural communities.Guide and check the Cultural Diversity Action Plan.Ensure diverse views are included in feedback to the Council.Work together, strengthen partnerships, and share information on issues affecting new multicultural residents.Your role as a MAG memberShare information and give feedback to help the Council make decisions by participating in engagement activities.Help find the best ways to communicate with and involve the Shire's multicultural communities.Support the Council in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.Encourage a group culture that values and explores different perspectives, ensuring the Council gets diverse advice.Work together, build community partnerships, and share information on issues affecting new multicultural residents in the Shire.The position is a volunteer role. It will last for two years, with a review after the first year. You will need to attend meetings every two months on the 3rd Thursday of February, April, June, August, October, and December from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.To be considered, you must:Live in Cardinia Shire and have an ethnic or multicultural background.Represent community groups or organizations that serve multicultural communities in Cardinia Shire.Commit to attending regular meetings and participating in discussions.To applyIn the section where you upload your resume, please upload a short statement explaining why you want to join the Multicultural Advisory Group.
