This includes direct management of the Coronary Care Unit and overseeing the provision of cardiac services with the team on our Cardiac/Cardiothoracic ward.
You will be responsible for managing patient flow and timely access from both the Emergency Department and an elective admission perspective.
You will be responsible for the facilitation of best practice clinical cardiac care and ensuring a positive patient experience.
The successful candidate will be integral in the planning and execution of a scheduled renovation and refurbishment of the current CCU.
In collaboration with our dedicated educators, you will be responsible for supervising the education of our graduate nurses, registered and enrolled nurses, and postgraduate nurses in the specialties of cardiac and cardiothoracic nursing.

Providing strong, effective leadership, demonstrating the ability to mentor staff and nurture a dynamic and cohesive teamFacilitate timely admission and demonstrate expertise in managing patient access to appropriate area based on risk stratification and acuityEnsure the ongoing professional development of staff in a supportive environmentEnsure the delivery of safe, effective, direct and indirect, patient-centered care throughout the continuum of care from point of admission to discharge.Comprehensive understanding of Australian Clinical Health Standards, and Quality improvement activities.Development of strong collaborative relationships with our Visiting Medical Officers, and in particular, our Cardiologists, Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Intensivists and Emergency Department Physicians.Requiring a strong financial acumen, ensuring bed utilization and length of stay management, efficient labour management and supply managementEnhancement of relationships with other departments within the hospitalBachelor degree in nursingWell refined leadership skills and effective interpersonal communication skillsPostgraduate qualification in critical care or cardiac care.Previous comprehensive senior management experience within an acute hospital environmentProven experience in managing KPI datasets including monitoring of activity targets, length of stay management and human resource management (WHPPD)Core knowledge of ACHS national standards and implementation and monitoring of quality activities to support these standardsYour application will include the following questions:
