The Opportunity We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Carbon Farming Advisor based in South-East Queensland to join our team. In this essential role, you will work directly with primary producers, helping them navigate the complexities of soil carbon projects under the Australian Carbon Credit Unit Scheme. You will provide expert guidance on land management strategies, carbon farming methodologies, and assist in the development of high-quality soil carbon projects. This is an exciting chance to play a pivotal role in a rapidly expanding sector, helping shape the future of carbon farming in Australia while delivering tangible environmental and economic outcomes. What You'll Do Originate new soil carbon projects, identifying opportunities and evaluating feasibility based on carbon sequestration potential and commercial viability. Advise clients on best practices, methodologies, and land management strategies to maximize carbon sequestration. Develop and monitor land management strategies in collaboration with clients, ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory requirements. Collaborate across teams, working with project managers, researchers, and other advisors to ensure the successful delivery of projects. Cultivate strong client relationships, offering tailored advice and support, and maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle. Represent CarbonLink at industry events, workshops, and conferences, showcasing successful projects and expertise in carbon farming. What You'll Bring To CarbonLink Customer Sales and Relationship Management: Proactively identify and pursue opportunities that create value for prospective clients. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for explaining complex technical information to clients. Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain lasting relationships with clients and project stakeholders. Technical Expertise Applied knowledge of agronomy, and carbon farming or regenerative agriculture practices. Experience with land management strategies that improve soil health and carbon sequestration. Knowledge of carbon farming methodologies and regulations or a keen interest to learn. Experience using QGIS software or an ability to learn. Project & Contract Management Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction. Experience in contract management and commercial negotiations. Education & Experience A qualification in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, or a related field. Proven experience in a farming advisory role, or in agricultural or environmental consulting. Mindset & Approach Passion for sustainable agriculture. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative to deliver results. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work. How You'll Work The role involves a mix of office and in-field work and requires regular travel to remote and regional areas to visit prospective clients and project properties. Your core region is South-East Queensland, extending into Central Queensland and Northern NSW, with travel further afield required from time to time. You can work from home or be based in our head office in the Brisbane CBD. A vehicle, phone, and laptop are provided.
