CAPS Australia is seeking a skilled Electrical Supervisor to take charge of our workshop-based electrical team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a senior role in executing and overseeing electrical modifications, testing, and installations for industry-leading equipment.
About the Role As our Senior Workshop Electrician, you will lead a team of qualified electricians and apprentices, ensuring safe practices, quality workmanship, and technical excellence. You'll execute electrical assembly and testing in our workshop and, when needed, support onsite commissioning, fault finding, and repairs.
Key Responsibilities Conduct all work safely and in line with CAPS' HSE policies. Oversee daily operations and ensure the electrical workshop area is safe, clean, and efficient. Mentor apprentices and develop the technical competence of all team members. Ensure compliance with electrical safety policies and use of appropriate PPE. Accurately assemble, test, and commission compressor and generator equipment. Conduct fault finding and repairs on company equipment, buildings, and assets. Oversee the completion of documentation, including timesheets, job cards, and test reports. Liaise with Workshop Supervisors and Engineering on design, testing, and part procurement. Sign off product modifications and project bespoke installation works on packages confirming compliance with minimum AS3000 requirements. Maintain calibrated test and diagnostic tools. Attend / Deliver relevant training programs to staff as specified or required. Qualifications Current WA Electrical Worker's License (essential). WA Electrical Contractor's License and Forklift License (highly preferred). Valid WA Driver's License (C Class). Excellent team management and interpersonal skills. Experience with electrical/pneumatic equipment and rotating machinery. Proficiency in fault finding and testing of compressed air equipment and power generators. Solid knowledge of AS3000 & AS3008 standards. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement. Strong written communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Supervisory Responsibilities Lead by example and set a high standard for safety and quality. Provide guidance to electricians and apprentices, prioritising safety and technical development. Manage team schedules, prioritize tasks, and oversee resource availability. Communicate with Engineering on project progress and any issues. Act as Workshop Supervisor when needed. Why Join CAPS?
