The sweet things you'll be involved in:Sugar Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Capital Project Engineer who has strong project management experience to join our team reporting to the National Engineering Manager based at our Sugar Australia Head Office in Yarraville, Melbourne.
As the Capital Project Engineer, you are responsible for managing the delivery of multiple capital works projects of any discipline on time, in budget, and to specification with zero injuries from concept to hand-over in line with Sugar Australia strategic objectives. You will be the key advisor on the interface between Capital development/execution and ongoing reliability, SHEQ, and operations to ensure that projects are fit for purpose, meet the site needs, and add value to the business.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Contribute to improving safety behaviour and awareness by making sure the team adheres to site safety policies and identifies safety breaches.Ensure risk assessment and all Permits to Work are completed and approved prior to commencement of work.Manage contractors and ensure projects are delivered according to agreed timeframe, outcomes, and financial plans.Provide technical engineering support and expert advice when required.Develop and manage customer requirements and interfaces to ensure that projects are identified and scoped in line with business needs.Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers to support understanding of requirements and completion of project.Strive for best practice safety, project execution, and cost performance through continuous interaction with the site teams.Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.What we're wanting you to bring to the table:Trade qualified and post trade qualifications in Engineering or, Bachelor of Engineering.3+ years project engineering and management experience in manufacturing or heavy industries.Experience in managing multi-disciplined projects.Exposure to continuous improvement or lean principles.Analytical and systematic, with good communication, negotiating, and record keeping capabilities.Ability to work well in a collaborative environment.Fit with Wilmar business values: Excellence; Innovation; Integrity; Passion; Safety; Teamwork.As the successful candidate, you will be conceptual, flexible, and adaptable.
