Background Capability Support is a provider of services to people living in the community. Capability was founded on the premise that we can do better for people living with disability, children, youth, and families in the community, by providing flexible, personalised, high quality, and professional supports.
Capability, through its Disability support team, supports Children, Young People, and Adults living with Disability to live their life as independently as possible. Typically, Capability's clients can present as complex and require multiple intervention strategies and plans in place.
Job Summary We are seeking a professional, experienced, and qualified Manager to oversee this service. You will primarily be based in our offices in Canberra City; however, flexible working arrangements are available, and remote workstations are provided. The recruitment of this position is due to ongoing growth in our Disability Support Services, and you will be working amongst a robust team.
Capability's Managers are expected to uphold the vision, values, and operational strategy of Capability Support in all that they do, whilst ensuring supports are delivered according to the National Disability Standards, and acting as a brand ambassador for Capability.
Capability has robust frameworks in risk, practice, and supervision in place to deliver best-practice supports to people living with Disability.
Responsibilities: Oversee the delivery of evidence-based, best-practice supports and provide supervision and management of our Disability Support Workers. Develop systems of best-practice support to provide oversight and develop supervision plans for staff members. Manage the performance of staff members, inclusive of supported HR conversations, onboarding, offboarding, and performance management. Develop Support Plans, Risk Assessments, Care Plans, and Transition plans in accordance with relative advice from Care Teams / Professionals. Conduct incident investigations, Critical Incident Reporting, and Debriefing. Adhere to the available practice standards, informing evidence-based practice. Lead and participate in Care Team Meetings to collaborate on best-practice supports for people living with Disability. Maintain high-level communication with Government Stakeholders. Prepare and review NDIS documentation to best support the appropriate funding of participants. Lead Team Meetings, Supervision, and Staff Development. Skills & Requirements: A desire to do differently, develop innovative ideas, and comprehensive plans to support people living with Disability. Qualifications in Management, Leadership, or Community Services (desirable, not required). Demonstrated ability to lead complex and diverse teams. Valid Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
