QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.About the roleYou will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing focus on the development and implementation of capability-related tools and training programs, with the aim of strengthening the skillsets and service delivery of QBuild teams, as well as ensuring consistent delivery of Capital Works.Duties and skills involved:Designing a Project and Contract management capability framework that aligns to QBuild priorities and strategies, allowing regions to understand the capability required to deliver stellar service quality to QBuild's customers.Developing and implementing a capability assessment tool that captures the competency level of staff, working to identify skill gaps that will inform and drive training and development across QBuild.Building relationships with a range of stakeholders across the business to ensure that the QBuild Capability framework aligns with government guidelines, ensuring appropriate levels of connectivity and integration.Analysing and interpreting government and departmental policies and practices, to ensure appropriateness of departmental procurement strategies in meeting the changing needs of the Queensland Public Sector and community.Promoting a proactive culture, empowering and encouraging people to develop in their roles and their skill sets to support continual improvement.Establishing a training and development model that will build the capability within QBuild teams through peer review mechanisms, on the job training and skill enhancement.Facilitating opportunities for learning and stretch assignments across regions to build capability and agility in the organisation.Leading by example and setting the standard for professional behaviour and excellent work habits that support a positive, performance-based environment.Representing QBuild professionally and enthusiastically and promoting the vision of QBuild both internally and externally.Preferred skills and experience:Skilled at analysing issues from multiple perspectives, recognising broader implications and drawing on a variety of information sources.Embraces fresh ideas, drives innovation, and unites people to co-create and refine effective solutions.Proficient in identifying and mobilising unique talents, coaching others towards self-led solutions, and encouraging critical reflection and ownership.Shows strong self-awareness, actively pursues opportunities for personal and professional growth, and participates in diverse development initiatives.A genuine interest in understanding construction industry practices and challenges.Mandatory Requirements:Class C Driving LicenceSome travel (including overnight stays) will be a requirement of the roleAll applicants must be eligible to work in Australia.Interested candidates are encouraged to review the below attached applicant guide and role description.
