Oversee the day-to-day operations of a school canteen, including the supervision and rostering of voluntary workers, opening and closing the canteen, preparation and cooking for service.The role also includes ordering, purchasing and checking all supplies against invoices and delivery dockets, and ensuring that school procedures are followed.Implement cleaning routines to ensure that food storage and preparation areas are clean, hygienic and compliant with food handling legislation/standards; ensure that food preparation equipment is cleaned and maintained in accordance with safe work standards and safe food handling standards.Perform periodic stocktake tasks relating to food, supplies and equipment on hand. Maintaining an awareness of safe food handling/storage legislation and standards, as well as relevant Departmental policies and strategies (e.g. healthy canteens).The Canteen Assistant Manager is directly answerable to the Canteen Manager, and ultimately to the Principal.ResponsibilitiesAs Canteen Assistant you will have a passion for providing fresh and healthy food and drinks as well as working with children and the broader community.
