About the role
This role will be responsible for delivering a positive stakeholder experience to internal staff and support to the Head of Human Resources and Operations Managers across the full suite of HR projects and activities, including end to end recruitment and selection, building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, and local community alliances, onboarding, learning and development, and reporting.
The HR Generalist will support the day-to-day administration, recruitment and employee relations at Cann's state-of-the-art production & manufacturing facility in Mildura.
The right candidate will play a key role in developing and embedding HR processes, procedures, as well as supporting various HR projects, and recruitment initiatives.
As an HR Generalist, you will
Be the first point of contact for HR-related queries in the Mildura facility, provide excellent customer service and queries where required; Advise line managers and employees on general HR policies & processes, supporting operational and cultivation managers with all people matters; Conduct recruitment and onboarding tasks, including assisting managers to create job descriptions, drafting, and posting job advertisements, shortlisting candidates, conducting phone screening and scheduling interviews; Prepare high quality HR documentation in a timely manner, such as letters of offer, employment contracts, and addendum letters; Coordinate on-boarding and induction activity, deliver company induction, and assist with on-boarding programs as required for all new employees; Build trusted partnerships and relationships at all levels, including departmental managers to drive effective support with their departmental recruitment activities; Assist with the implementation and administration of the Cann Cloud HR & Payroll System (ELMO); Assist in the development and coordination of learning and development programs; Assist the payroll department by providing relevant employee information in a timely manner; Participate in HR projects as directed by Head of Human Resources; Manage all aspects of HR administration as required; Be the key driver and administrator for the HR information system, provide guidance and support for hiring managers in relation to using HRIS.
Preparation of HR reporting documentation; Assist Head of Human Resources with handling ER & IR issues in relation to the Mildura facility; Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Treat sensitive matters with confidentiality and professionalism; Participate in HR projects and initiatives including but not limited to; employee benefits program, performance management and recruitment plan for Mildura facility expansion.
Perform other duties as assigned.
About you
Qualifications/Licences
Tertiary or Diploma qualifications in the HR or allied field.
Pre-employment Security and Health Screening Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
Experience
A minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience working in a HR function.
Experience working with HR Information systems, experience with ELMO would be an advantage Understanding of HR areas such as talent acquisition, recruitment, training & development, employee relations, and performance management.
Experience with Enterprise Agreements and Industrial Modern Awards such as Horticulture, Pharmaceuticals, Warehouse and Manufacturing is an advantage.
Good understanding of recruitment strategies in regional areas.
Exceptional interpersonal skills that will help develop strong relationships and collaborate with line managers and staff across the board.
Demonstrated self-motivation together with a high level of initiative and solution-oriented approach to work.
Strong computer skills with intermediate to advanced literacy in Microsoft Office products.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A pleasant 'can do' attitude, and the ability to act independently and work collaboratively with a team.
Must show initiative and be pro-active in problem solving and process improvement.
Accuracy and attention to detail with ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
Organisational, time management and administrative skills.
Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritise work effectively.
