Job DescriptionThe Canine Care Attendant undertakes a range of activities to support the care of dogs in the office environment, support volunteer handler training sessions and group pup walks, and develops an understanding of organisation processes and procedures. This role may be physically demanding with frequent walking, bending, and undertaking tasks to support the needs of a young dog.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Routine activities to support welfare and enrichment of dogs in the office environment under direction from the dog services team.Support the handover of dogs from boarders each morning and settle into the office for a days' worth of training.Support the Puppy Development team in preparation for placement of pups, including preparing equipment packs and paperwork.Provide support as required at volunteer handler training sessions.Develop an understanding of dog behaviour and socialisation.Develop an understanding of organisational reporting requirements and systems to ensure accurate and timely recording of data on the Client Management System.Represent GDWA at relevant promotional events, acting as an ambassador for Guide Dogs, promoting good public image and supporting GDWA/EverAbility's strategic direction.Comply with organisational policies and procedures.Ensure safe work practices are adhered to at all times.Seek learning opportunities to develop and maintain own professional development.Other duties as reasonably directed by Team leader/Manager.Desired Skills and ExperienceBenefits:
