About the Role
The School is seeking to appoint an inspirational and collaborative Language Assistant – French who will join the School in its quest for excellence in learning.
The Language Assistant - French will work alongside teachers of French in their senior (Year 11 and 12) classes as requested and directed by the Head of Language Acquisition and French Language Teachers.
The incumbent will be expected to assist with the preparation of resource materials, including searching for authentic materials online, creating 'exemplar' samples of written and spoken work, assisting with small-group conversation practice and similar activities, and assisting teachers to give feedback on students' written work.
The Language Assistant - French also assists with the instruction of advanced students in the School's French Extension Program in Years 7 – 10, this includes:
Collaborating with teachers to develop extension activities for students, Giving written and oral feedback on students' work, Liaising with French teachers about common assessment tasks, Giving feedback on sessions that will go towards the report-writing process.
About You
You are dedicated, passionate, and possess the following:
Fluency in both French and English languages, The ability to work collaboratively with other members of staff, Administrative and organisational skills, Communication and interpersonal skills.
All team members at CGS are required to have:
A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card, A current National Police Check, and Full working rights within Australia.
