The BUSY School is an independent Special Assistance School with 9 campuses across Cairns, Brisbane, and Gold Coast/Coolangatta, providing an alternative program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.
Each campus provides a supportive and safe learning environment for young people by providing them with an education program that includes vocational education and training (VET), work experience and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. Our team support the students to gain employability and transferability skills to increases their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration and employment outcomes.
Our teams' focus is centred at re-engaging our students to learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and gain employment or further training outcomes upon student's graduation from Year 12.
Job DescriptionAbout the position We are seeking a passionate and experienced educational leader as the next Campus Principal of the Southport Girls+ Campus. The Campus Principal is integral in drawing together the three aspects of a TBS education – Learning, Wellbeing, and Career Pathways. Retaining oversight of the journey of each student, the Campus Principal is supported by a committed staff team, with all work being undertaken in the pursuit of the best interests of the student. Working from a trauma-informed approach, the school supports young people where they are at, currently, and aims to guide them in making accessible goals for themselves while celebrating their success along the way. The Campus Principal will build and bring alive the campus culture, for staff and students, giving influential leadership to all stakeholders, and participating in enacting the school's strategic vision.
The Southport Girls+ Campus is unique in its CBD location within short walking distance of the tram station and provides a young-adult transition environment for year 11 and 12 students making their way into the workforce and young adulthood. The BUSY School – Southport Girls+ campus is a boutique sized campus, with small class sizes and a team of staff to provide wraparound care for the students.
The Campus Principal is responsible for all aspects of campus management, including staff, students, caregivers, and community. The Campus Principal reports to the Executive Principal and works alongside a team of Heads committed to executing the strategic vision and making an authentic difference to our young people.
This role is due to commence immediately but open to later commencement discussions.
