Role
Assistant principals have a primary responsibility for the management of significant areas or functions within the school to ensure the effective development, provision and evaluation of the school's education program. In exercising the responsibility, assistant principals will have the authority to make all significant decisions relating to the program, budget and staff relating to their area of designated responsibility within the framework of the school's strategic plan, policies and budget. Assistant principals will contribute to the overall management of the school through involvement in policy formulation and decision making.
Role Summary
Specifically the Campus Assistant Principal will be a member of the Campus leadership team and College PCO team. The successful candidate will take leadership of the daily operations of the Campus. Additionally, the successful candidate will have responsibility for the Curriculum Leadership for a specified Stage of Learning team across the college.
Responsibilities

Support the leadership and implementation of effective instructional practices as they pertain to NBC
Implement and sustain the development of consistent college processes throughout all Campus classrooms, site operations and staff collaborative practices
Lead the development of proactive use of student learning and engagement data through all learning programs
Provide leadership and mentorship to Leading Teachers and emerging leaders
Lead a College wide PLC
Share responsibility for the development and effective implementation of the College Annual Improvement Plan
Oversee all aspects of the operation of the campus including the educational welfare of all students
In conjunction with the Campus Principal be responsible for general student welfare and discipline matters
Implement the performance and development program
Provide leadership and support to enable all teachers to improve their teaching through the use of informed feedback data
Assist graduate teachers with their application for full registration as appropriate
Support the development of a College Communication Strategy and contribute to College communication initiatives
Allocation of budgets, positions of responsibility and other resources within relevant programs
Other duties as requested by the College Principal

Appropriately qualified individuals currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
