End Food Waste Australia's vision is an Australia without food waste, starting with halving food waste by 2030. We will end food waste in Australia through research and innovation, industry action, policy development and behaviour change.
We conduct world-leading research through the End Food Waste Cooperative Research Centre, funded by the Australian Government's Department of Industry, Science and Resources. We lead bold and innovative industry action and collaboration through the Australian Food Pact and Sector Action Plans and help change behaviours in our homes and businesses through The Great Unwaste campaign, supported by the Australian Government Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.

This role is essential in supporting the successful delivery of the The Great Unwaste, which is a wide ranging, multi stakeholder program to help the nation to reduce their household food waste saving money, time and the planet. This role is essential in supporting the successful delivery of the campaign, offering organisation and operational assistance across various areas. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, committed and a strong team player.
This role reports directly to the Campaign Director. The location for this role is Adelaide noting that travel for events and meetings around the country may be infrequently required and may include overnight stays. The role currently has no direct staff management duties.
The Campaign Support Officer will play a critical role in ensuring that the team of staff function at its best by developing/supporting administrative processes and practices to keep track of our projects. The ideal candidate will be a skilled organiser, having attention to detail and the ability to undertake a wide and varied range of administrative tasks, including EA support. Dependent on skills and experience, there may be an opportunity to support campaign communications and marketing functions.
The role is fixed term until 30th November 2025 with the opportunity to extend the contract if sufficient ongoing funding is secured.
Qualifications and Experience Prior experience in a similar administrative and or project support role.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a positive can-do attitude.Committed and able to work effectively as part of a team.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note, Teams).Experience of organising and running meetings and events.A genuine commitment to the cause, the team and the organisation's values and behaviours. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva) Desirable
Not essential but would be highly regarded to have social media and/or digital communication skills, such as editing, social media, website maintenance or design.Experience in a campaign, communications or marketing environment.Familiar with basic project management, methodologies or tools.Capacity and knowledge to support the running of social media and other digital communications channels.Key Accountabilities The Campaign Support Officer will be responsible for:Providing comprehensive project and administrative support to the Campaign Director, Campaign Manager and other members of the campaign team as required. Providing EA support for the Campaign Director and Campaign Manager, this may include managing calendars, scheduling and organising meetings. Coordinate and plan team meetings, including booking rooms and venues, preparing agendas and distributing materials.Assist in tracking project timelines, tasks and deliverables to help the project stay on schedule.Prepare and format reports, presentations and other documents required.Stakeholder liaison, customer service and reporting.Managing team meetings, organising and scheduling stakeholder workshops, webinars, events and other activities as required. Taking detailed notes during meetings, distributing notes and following up on action items.Support communication efforts with the creation of emails and internal communication for team.Perform general duties such as creating and managing emails, campaign inquiries and campaign team communication.Organise and maintain project documents to ensure ease of access, tracking, activity status and version control.Support the campaign team in developing communications materials and assets.Support special projects and provide ad-hoc assistance to the team as needed.Supporting the running of The Great Unwaste social media, website and other digital communications channels.Act as a liaison with external stakeholders.Candidate Specification The Campaign Support Officer role will meet the following requirements:
