We're looking for a dynamic and compassionate Client Services Officer to provide essential casework, group work, and community development activities to families in the City of Canterbury-Bankstown.
In this role, you will work closely with families and young people who are facing challenges that impact their wellbeing, relationships, health, security, and safety.
You'll offer vital support through advocacy, group workshops, and practical assistance, ensuring children's safety and empowering families to thrive.
Key Responsibilities: Champion family rights and uphold best practice guidelines in service delivery.Actively safeguard children's wellbeing and promptly address concerns.Assess program referrals in consultation with your Manager and manage casework and group services for families.Provide support, guidance, and advocacy to children, young people, and families, ensuring privacy and confidentiality.Facilitate individual service plans that empower families to set goals and identify resources to meet them.Develop and evaluate group programs that respond to the needs of the community.Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and case notes in line with service policies and legislative requirements.Build strong collaborative networks with key agencies and community groups.Attend network meetings and keep the team informed with clear, respectful communication.Participate actively in team meetings and service delivery objectives.We're Looking for Candidates Who Have: Qualifications: Tertiary/Diploma in Social Welfare or a related field.Experience: Proven experience in working with families with complex needs, child protection, and comprehensive assessments.Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant legislation, child protection, and frameworks for working with vulnerable families.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in report writing and analytical thinking.Cultural Competence: Ability to effectively respond to the needs of diverse communities, including Indigenous, CALD, and LGBTQIA+ groups.Technical Skills: Competence in Microsoft Office and data collection.Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed.Other Essentials: Access to a personal vehicle, valid NSW Working with Children Check, National Police Check, current NSW driver's license, and COVID-19 vaccinationFluency in a second language other than English.If you are passionate about supporting families and children and have the expertise to make a real impact, apply now to join our dedicated team!
