About the role
The café will operate Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm, serving all the foot traffic from the building, clients/members using our lounge meeting spaces, catering for corporate client meetings & events.
Outside of those hours the venue is available to be booked for private events and we will offer catering for these as well.
We are looking for a Café Manager to join our team and build the cafés offering!
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
Recruit, lead, motivate, and manage the café team to deliver excellent customer service.
Responsible for recruiting both back-of-house and front-of-house staff, ensuring the right candidates are selected to maintain smooth operations and excellent customer service.
Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing the café, stock management, and cash handling.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
Manage café inventory, place orders, and maintain supplier relationships.
Create and maintain staff schedules, ensuring optimal staffing levels at all times.
Train, develop, and evaluate staff to improve performance and service.
Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Monitor and control costs, including food, beverage, and labour expenses.
Develop and implement marketing initiatives to drive sales and attract new customers.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience as a Café Manager or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry of at least 4 years.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
Excellent customer service skills and a passion for delivering exceptional experiences.
Good understanding of café operations, including inventory, ordering, and budgeting.
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs.
