Banksy Bar & Kitchen is a modern cafe and espresso bar in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, QLD offering dine in and takeaway food and drink options. Coffee Beans are roasted by Quest Coffee Roasters, offered for purchase and used for coffee service. We have an opening for a casual Cafe Attendant on 1 or 2 days each weekend. Shifts would be between 4 and 7.5 hrs long. This position would be perfect for a weekend job for a High School or University Student.

RESPONSIBILITIESRunning Food: Delivering food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate tables, ensuring accuracy and prompt service.Clearing and Cleaning Tables: Keeping the dining area tidy and presentable, clearing tables after customers leave, and promptly resetting them for the next guests.General Cleaning: Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the cafe, including regular cleaning of surfaces, floors, and equipment.Dishwashing: Ensuring timely and efficient cleaning of dishes, glassware, and utensils to maintain a smooth workflow and support kitchen operations.Customer Service at Till: Assisting customers at the cash register, processing transactions accurately, and providing friendly and attentive service.Promotion of coffee and food consumption by educating customers.Handling and Serving Food: Preparing and serving food items, such as pastries, sandwiches, and snacks, following established recipes and presentation guidelines.Assisting with Opening and Closing: Supporting the team in preparing the cafe for opening and ensuring all tasks are completed at the end of the day for a smooth closing process.Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and Food Health & Safety regulationsABOUT YOUPROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTSPrevious experience in a cafe or hospitality setting, with a strong understanding of customer service principles.Excellent listening and verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.Familiarity with Food Health & Safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.RSANICE TO HAVEBarista experience / training.Certification in Hospitality or related industry.Experienced in a fast paced cafe.PERSONAL REQUIREMENTSAustralian citizen or resident with an appropriate visa to work in AustraliaAvailability to work at least 1 weekend day every week (bonus if can work 2 weekend days)Availability to work shifts between 8am to 3pm weekends for between 4 and 7.5 hrs.PERSONAL QUALITIESYou strive for open and honest communication with respect for othersProfessional demeanour and a desire to exceed expectationsStrong customer focus and empathyDesire to learnYou are reliable, punctual, and organisedYou like getting things done and care about how they get doneYou are proactive and self-directed, identifying issues and opportunities ahead of timeYou strive for achievement and making a differenceBENEFITSCasual: $24 to $31 / hr Base Rate + penalties & superSupport from a great teamSupport from a great team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.Option for training in Cafe / Barista.Enviable working location at a new and modern cafe in Broadbeach.HOW TO APPLYPlease submit your CV and a short cover letter using the form below and we'll reach out to you to schedule an initial chat.
