About the Ganhambarra "Work" Ready Program In line with existing programs in operation at Newmont operations including Boddington and Tanami, the Cadia Ganhambarra Ready Program is designed to provide dedicated pathways for First Nations people into an exciting long-term career at Cadia.
With 2025 being the first year such a program will be in operation on-site, these roles represent an exciting opportunity to be a part of the initial intake, whilst also working to shape the program moving forward for future participants.
Successful applicants will undertake a dedicated 12-week paid program focused on providing exposure to a range of departments across site, a variety of working rosters and daily tasks with the aim to transition at the completion of the program into an ongoing role within the business full-time.
Throughout the program participants will complete a variety of training activities to ensure they are safe and competent in the work areas assigned and provided with the opportunity to potentially pursue further training subject to their interests.
During the program, participants will be connected with our existing on-site Indigenous Mentors to provide added support, guidance and a friendly face to best support any challenges that arise throughout the program.
Participants can also get involved in cultural activities connected with the Indigenous Mentoring Program including shaping how the Ganhambarra Program operates for future years.
Who we're looking for: As a dedicated work-ready program, we are seeking applications from First Nations people from a range of backgrounds who are interested in pursuing a career at Cadia.
With the structure of the program being designed to establish a baseline of work fitness, skills and experience irrespective of previous history, this could include school leavers looking to enter the employment market, those in employment but looking to pursue something new, those who have been out of the workforce and looking to re-enter, or those who may not have been employed previously but looking to build a career.
What you will need to be successful: A current drivers license (Provisional and above desirable); An ability to successfully complete the required pre-employment checks including relevant medical and background checks; Minimum age of 18 upon commencement due to supervision requirements; A positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team; An ability to commit to the 12 week program including all relevant training and induction requirements; A positive attitude and a willingness to learn Our commitment to you   Our people bring our organisation to life.
