You'll learn to create technical engineering drawings using advanced CAD software, supporting engineers in turning project concepts into reality.
This role provides practical experience and mentorship to build a strong foundation in drafting techniques and principles.At Bornhorst + Ward, we offer two specialised disciplines—Civil and Structural—allowing you to shape your career based on your interests and strengths.As a Civil Cadet Drafter, you'll contribute to projects such as subdivisions, roadworks, water systems, and more.
Using AutoCAD, you'll produce engineering drawings and collaborate with engineers to meet project requirements.If you're interested in designing buildings and structures, the Structural Cadet Drafter role may suit you.
Using the latest Building Information Modelling (BIM) Software, Revit, you'll help develop detailed structural designs, working closely with engineers to deliver efficient and innovative projects.No matter which path you choose, you'll be part of a supportive team working on exciting and impactful engineering projects.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Drawings: Create engineering drawings for civil or structural projects.CAD Software Use: Develop engineering drawings with industry-leading tools such as AutoCAD and BIM Software Revit.Collaboration: Work with the design team to produce efficient design solutions.Site Visits: Collect data and ensure designs align with construction progress.Revisions: Update drawings based on feedback or project changes.About YouWe are seeking enthusiastic individuals who have:An interest in STEM subjects, especially Technology and Engineering.Basic computer skills and an eagerness to learn technical drawing and 3D modelling or BIM (experience with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus).A proactive attitude and strong communication skills.A genuine interest in the construction and engineering industry.The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.This role is ideal for recent school leavers, TAFE students, or those looking to pursue a career in drafting.Why Join Bornhorst + Ward?At Bornhorst + Ward, we prioritise your professional and personal growth.
