Description The opportunity: Our Community Development team is looking for Cadet Draftsperson/Designers where you will work with experienced engineers, designers and drafters to deliver dynamic drafting solutions in a variety of civil engineering projects.
Although no previous experience is required, we are on the hunt for passionate people who enjoy modelling, designing and drafting and are able to demonstrate a commitment to continued learning.
As a Cadet Designer, you will work on community development projects and –
Learn all facets of CAD, drafting and design techniques and gain skills in relevant computer programs.
Work under the guidance of our Engineers and Designers on civil engineering projects; and
Provide accurate and efficient drafting services for the Business Unit in accordance with project times and budgets, with detailed supervision.
Obtain existing infrastructure information using GIS, Dial Before You Dig, as-constructed drawings and reports, and other relevant software programs and tools.
Liasing with local government authorities
Develop communication skills with relevant authorities and sub-contractors
Undertaking design and drawings to relevant authority and local government standards

Qualifications About you: To be successful you will display –
Limited experience or a keen interest in drafting and design in the mechanical, structural or piping space
An ability to gain and apply knowledge of engineering drawing techniques and CAD packages
Intermediate skills in MS Office (MS Word and MS Excel)
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment
An ability to problem solve and manage your time effectively
Educational and work experience that is preferred include: Diploma of Engineering Technical (completed or undertaking), and/or
Advanced Diploma of Engineering (completed or undertaking) and/or
Associate Degree in Civil Engineering (completed or undertaking)
