CAD Technician (Bentley – MEP Modelling with Fire Systems Experience) Contract type: Permanent contract

Key Responsibilities:
Supporting in developing engineering designs using best practice details and bespoke solutions Contributing to the CAD best practice library Providing BIM Level 2 support from creation of documentation, to validation and As Built Close Out Managing 3D CAD models, contributing in your specialized discipline but also supporting Assisting in the delivery and management of projects from technical design to construction stage to ensure compliance and delivery to project standards Responsible for implementing best practices and consistent processes across the project, liaising with project stakeholders and the supply chain to ensure the correct standards are applied Responsible for quality processes and quality standards of all drawing deliverables Utilising Bentley ProjectWise with OpenBuilding Designer and MicroStation for detailed drawing creation and documentation, ensuring the information is fully coordinated Liaising with discipline task team leads to ensure output is fully coordinated Leading the production of high-quality design and detailed construction drawings for specific elements of railway station projects, ensuring integration with overall project information models Producing drawing output from 3D model information in line with the Component Catalogue and outline information within the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) Ensuring all drawings are submitted and meet the project requirements set out Supporting and liaising with the BIM Coordinator, BIM Manager and wider project joint venture team in the implementation of deliverables adhering to specified project standards and facilitating issue resolution Ensuring accurate and timely information flow and adherence to data management standards Participating in quality assurance checks to ensure they meet the project's accuracy, detail, and the employers' information requirements Assisting in monitoring compliance with the BEP and the supporting project standards, contributing to regular reports on BIM deliverable status Working closely with other disciplines to ensure the 3D CAD models are integrated and coordinated efficiently, attending regular coordination meetings as necessary Providing technical support and guidance to project team members on BIM-related issues.

Profile Essential skills:
BIM Technician with at least a minimum of 3 years' experience in major infrastructure/transportation projects Experience of working in an engineering production environment Railway, transportation or construction background Experience of delivering projects to UK BIM Standards including BS1192 and ISO 19650 Proficient in using Bentley software including ProjectWise, OpenBuilding Designer and Microstation Demonstrated experience in leading the technical development of 3D CAD components from conceptual design through to detailed construction models Experience in working within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the cohesive development of integrated project deliverables Good knowledge of UK design standards, such as Network Rail, HS2 and TfL Experience working with BEPs, Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDP), Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDP) and Model Production Delivery Tables (MPDT) Ability to adapt to new BIM technologies and workflows, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement We are committed to our planet: In each project we design, engineer and operate we care deeply about the legacy we're leaving behind.
