It involves the renewal/upgrade of the existing inter-city network across the Nation.
The new inter-city fibre cable uses technically improved optic fibre cable and architecture which will provide additional capacity between capital cities and remote communities to enhance performance and improve connectivity to regional Australia which will support the anticipated growth in bandwidth over the next 25+ years.
About the role Reporting to the CAD Team Lead, the CAD operator is responsible for creating and modifying technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design software, ensuring accuracy, adherence to specifications, and timely delivery of drawings to support engineering and construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have a background and be familiar with working on Telstra Fibre optic networks guidelines and standards.
Utilising your knowledge and expertise in the Telstra Network and CAD, you will draft and provide technical guidance for the timely delivery of cost-efficient and quality drawings.
Duties can include: Create detailed & technical drawings of optic fibre networks Manage detailed drawings and modify upon review of the CAD team lead Adhere to Telstra standards and guidelines Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate drawings Delivery of design on-time, within budget and to quality standards.
Work closely with Construction Team, Land Access Team, Surveyors, and Field Managers to ensure project priorities are being managed.
Collaborate with the Design Manager and Project Officers on any variations and contractual notices associated with the completion of design activities.
About you We are interested in speaking to candidates who have a natural flair for problem-solving and the ability to communicate effectively across a broad range of stakeholders.
You will have a passion for the use of CAD and enjoy working on complex technical drawings, always seeking to encourage innovation, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Certification in CAD (Highly desirable) Drafting and/or design experience on Telstra projects Previous experience using Telstra Databases, MITS, TPD, Multiman, NETmaps, CAD.
