To support a rapidly expanding business, we are seeking a professional with demonstrated experience in computer aided design and manufacturing.This Canberra-based position is permanent and full time; however, part time and flexible working arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.
The RoleReporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering Lead, the CAD/CAM Operator will be responsible for translating engineering direction into Computer Aided Designed mechanical parts and assemblies, following into the manufacturing and documentation of designs.
The key responsibilities for this role include: Operate CAD design software (SOLIDWORKS)Create mechanical documentation such as technical drawings, exploded view assembly drawings, and product assembly instructions.Interpret engineering specifications and ensure accuracy in designs and manufactured parts.Modify/Revise and Release existing mechanical parts and assemblies.Create 3D photo realistic product renders.Design mechanical Parts and Assemblies as collaborated with engineers.Operate CAM software (SolidCAM)Programming of mechanical parts for the use on CNC machining, including 4 and 5 axis machines.The ability to differentiate approaches for prototype parts and high volume production, and a keen interest in CAM optimization.Manage and maintain the CNC/CAM tool and fixtures library.Mechanical AssemblyAssemble and build mechanical designs, documenting assembly procedure as well as documenting modifications.Quality AssuranceTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to CAD/CAM systems or equipment.Adhere to safety and quality standards throughout all stages of production.Conduct quality control checks and ensure final products meet industry standards.Qualifications: Proven experience as a CAD/CAM Operator or in a similar technical role.Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (SOLIDWORKS preferred).Experience with CNC machines, including setup, programming, and operation.Strong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing processes.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.Knowledge of safety and quality control standards in manufacturing environments.Apply For Job
