JOB DESCRIPTION

Would you like to work with wood-based materials and enjoy seeing a finished product? If so, an Apprentice Cabinetmaker role may be just what you are looking for! Gain hands-on experience in building and installing cabinets, using machinery, and measuring jobs. Launch your career in a dynamic and growing industry. Earn as you learn with our full-time Cabinet Making Apprenticeship, working 38 hours a week in Caloundra. Gain valuable hands-on experience with our esteemed host employers while studying towards a Certificate III in Cabinet Making. Take the next step towards success with a 4-year journey of growth and opportunity. With the support of qualified tradespeople, you will be:

Learning to construct and install a variety of custom cabinets and joinery through a variety of factory-based and on-site projects. Marking, cutting, and shaping wood using saws, chisels, and power tools. Trimming and gluing joints. Examining designs, drawings, and parts to determine specifications. Cutting and shaping pieces of wood. Fitting hinges, drawers, and shelves. Delivering and installing completed products to site.

Applicants will ideally meet the following criteria:

Be eligible to complete an apprenticeship. Present with a genuine interest in woodwork. Be well presented, enthusiastic, reliable, and punctual. Be motivated with a positive attitude. Must be physically fit. Effectively carry out instruction. Have strong problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work within set timeframes. Enjoy practical work and be able to use manual tools.

*White Card Required*. A driver's license & own reliable transport would be an advantage.
