Responsibilities: As a Skilled Cabinet Maker, you will be responsible for the performance and output of furniture and joinery items from the factory. Reporting directly to the Factory Manager, you will work collaboratively with a team of skilled professionals to meet production schedules while maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Construct furniture and joinery items according to established schedules, ensuring the appropriate level of production required. Maintain material levels at the assembly site, highlighting any possible inconsistencies in product design and communicating them to the Factory Manager. Uphold quality standards during the assembly process, ensuring the final product aligns with clients' expectations. Adhere to all workplace health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures, reporting any safety issues or hazards promptly. Keep the work area clean and monitor for any potential obstructions or risks. Mentor and train apprentices and work with students as required, sharing your expertise and knowledge. Identify and report machine or product issues to the Factory Manager to minimize the impact on production schedules. Actively participate in performance appraisals as scheduled. Requirements: It is essential to have completed or be progressing toward a cabinet-making/joinery trade qualification, supported by proven industry experience. Proficient time management skills Problem-solving skills are crucial for making fast decisions and addressing any issues that arise during the construction process. The ability to identify errors or inconsistencies based on provided design information A capacity to sustain concentration to ensure accuracy. Work autonomously or within a team, without regular supervision. Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills Physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role, which may involve lifting heavy materials and operating machinery. Supervisory skills for the purpose of mentoring and training less experienced employees. Experience working in fast-paced production environments is an advantage, showcasing the ability to thrive in a dynamic setting.
