Competitive Remuneration Package We are seeking an experienced & enthusiastic HSE Advisor to join a well-established team in Northern Goldfields! Working a 4:3 Roster (4 days on, 3 days off), you will be rewarded with flights to site and accommodation in camp provided!
Primary Purpose The primary purpose of the HSE Advisor is to assist management in ensuring that the site complies with all legislative, regulatory, company, and client HSE obligations.
Key Responsibilities Lead safety from the front and engage with the leadership team and employees out in the field. Conduct a comprehensive risk assessment of the scope of operations, including the working environment, reviewing current work practices and procedures. Assist with the development of a training needs analysis (including gap analysis), including the identification of training needs and the development of a site training plan. Monitor the implementation of the training plan with respect to critical training and ensure compliance. Assist site personnel in the development of site and task-specific risk assessments, operational procedures, safe work instructions, Journey Management Plans, and Traffic Management Plans while conducting ongoing reviews of the effectiveness and compliance to risk control measures. Develop the site induction with respect to both Company and Client requirements when working on common user sites, considering employees potentially coming from a varying range of backgrounds. Liaise with Company's Client site representatives for the purposes of obtaining key information, conducting joint risk assessments, and communicating the Company's HSE Management Plan as well as ensuring compliance with Clients training/onboarding requirements. Establish HSE consultation and communications processes including HSE Representatives, HSE Committees, and toolbox meetings. Ensure Contractors are properly engaged, inducted, and ensure adequate supervision and monitoring is in place to meet Qube and Client requirements. Provide the site with leadership and assistance in the development of a safety culture and environment which is consistent across all safety-critical functions. Develop, implement, and monitor the site HSE Management Plans to meet the site performance targets and meet the Business and Corporate requirements. Establish, implement, and monitor an inspection and audit program for the site including all safety requirements and mentor staff in the carrying out of these activities. Qualification & Experience Experience in mining or heavy transport industry highly desirable. Previous industry-specific experience in a Health & Safety Management role. Health & safety or related qualification from a tertiary institution. Ability to develop tactical and strategic plans to address safety issues. A strong commitment to safety and zero harm. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A good working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
