Due to continued growth, they are expanding their Accounts Payable team and seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Officer. This role involves providing end-to-end AP support, mentoring team members, and optimizing processes, systems and reporting.
Key Responsibilities: Manage supplier payments, including EFT, BPAY, Direct Debits etc. Oversee AP and invoice mailboxes, resolving pending or disputed invoices. Ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments. Maintain data integrity and verify expenditure approvals as per policies. Coordinate with Procurement for supplier setup and lead vendor management. Prepare weekly cash forecasts, review supplier statements, and assist with month-end reporting. Liaise with the Financial Systems Support team to resolve data issues and complete month-end processes. Review current AP processes and recommend and implement changes to increase efficiency. Mentor junior staff, support team development, and provide backup for AP Officers and the AP Manager during absences. About You:
The successful candidate will have:
5+ years of Accounts Payable experience. Experience in high-volume environments, ideally within shared services models. Strong transactional knowledge of full AP processes and accounting concepts (e.g., GST, GL coding). Proficiency with large ERP accounting systems; experience with SAP and Basware is highly desirable, along with advanced Excel skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a positive, team-oriented attitude. Ability to support and mentor team members to build a high-performing team.
