Purpose and Scope: Do you want to really understand how supply chain works in one of Winnipeg's largest manufacturers and connect concepts you are learning in class? Are you interested in getting a deeper understanding of day-to-day operations and being responsible for purchasing product that is used directly in production? Do you want to be part of a supply chain team that works hard but also knows how to have fun? If so, this is a fantastic opportunity for you. Your core responsibilities will be to ensure production materials are delivered to MacDon Industries on time, in the correct quantity, at the right location, and within quality standards.
Responsibilities The following are the main job responsibilities and priorities for this position: Diligently actions MRP messages to ensure on-time delivery to production and service partsIssues Purchase Orders to suppliers and processes supplier acknowledgementsProactive and diligent communication with suppliers to ensure on time deliveryMonitors past dues through Late Purchase Order report and expedites when necessaryMaintains accurate and current delivery date information in JDE for inbound supplier shipmentsActions Engineering Change Notices affecting assigned suppliers (manages cut in dates, issues first article POs, supplier communication, etc.)Process reject tags by collaborating with supplier quality and engineering on disposition of materialManages inventory by minimizing/eliminating obsolescence and surplus inventoryDevelops and maintains excellent vendor partnershipsCommunicates with Procurement Specialists to address price changes or discrepanciesAssists receiving with delivery issues such as quantity discrepancies and missing paperworkMaintains MRP parameters, vendor lead times and BOM offsetsOther duties as assigned by the Purchasing ManagerQualifications Skills and Knowledge Proficiency with Excel.Candidate should be able to employ critical thinking and problem-solving skills while making decisions based on multiple options and decisively determine the right course of action.Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.Location: 680 Moray Street, Winnipeg.
