Wood is currently recruiting for a Buyer to join our Operations business in Australia & Asia Pacific West (APAC WEST). This is an opportunity to join our expanding Operations team, as part of our strategic growth plan for 2024 and beyond. Based in Perth CBD, this is a long-term commitment role and is available on a permanent full-time / part-time (job share)/ contractor engagement basis.
Wood "Operations" delivers Brownfield's engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the Energy industry. Wood enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent Energy and LNG producers with operations in Western Australia, Northern Territory, and Southeast Asia.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting directly to the Contracts & Procurement Lead, you will step up and into a dedicated client contract team. You will be responsible for the delivery of specific purchasing activities and implementing strategies that deliver tangible and sustainable savings. Key aspects of the role include being responsible for adding value / generating net savings through:
efficient maintenance of orders through SAPproviding support to the Senior Buyerdriving out waste and reducing costs from within the supply chainidentifying and delivering 'bottom up' purchasing opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS
You must have full work rights to work in this Australian location.
Ideally, you will hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent post-secondary qualifications from a recognised institution and related discipline and have a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in a purchasing role within the Oil & Gas industry. You will also have:
Strong communication skills - oral and writtenExperience with ERPs in an EPCM environment (including SAP)Experience in Supplier Relationship ManagementBe commercially astute with a "solutions mindset"Be customer-focused with an ability to develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders while balancing operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood.
