We have a great opportunity available within our Merchandise team for aBuyer with strong FMCG experience. This role is responsible for one of biggest categories in our consumables department.
The role is a hybrid role and we work in the office Monday to Wednesday! The role is accountable for delivering a profitable category, while driving and developing key supplier relationships and executing the customer centric category strategy.
A Day in the Role: Build and develop a strategy to ensure great quality, value, and experience to our customersDrive simple, consistent, and efficient processesAchieve our Low-Cost modelGrowing profitable sales for the portfolio by winning customers with market leading propositionDevelop a customer centric category vision through a strategic approach to deliver the Product and Price directiveLead category transformationDrive sales performance in line with budget forecasts and LYRemove all duplication and range fringe to deliver simplest customer propositionDelivery of KPI's of sales and profit to budgetBring innovative new concepts to the categoryDevelop supplier negotiations and lead negotiationsEnsure all products are purchased in line with Australian quality standardsAchieve markdowns, stock turns and fast turning inventoryWhat you can bring to the role: Proven experience in retail buying, preferably within FMCGStrong negotiation skills and ability to build effective relationships with suppliers.Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Results-driven and proactive, with a passion for delivering value to customers.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.What we can offer you: A supportive and diverse culture.
