What will you do? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and strategic Buyer to join our Gaming and Toys team being responsible for the largest sales department in the company.
As the Gaming and Toys Buyer, you will be responsible for building and trading a department range/business group that delivers the strategy, vision, and financial KPI's. Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to build assortment plans to drive sales and profitability, in line with Target's values.
Other responsibilities will include:
Build assortment plans to drive sales and profitabilityWork with key external stakeholders locally and internationally to drive market share and deliver a point of difference.Work collaboratively with the Planner to develop department strategy with clear focuses.Own and deliver the product range from its development through to store execution.Partner with the Planner to develop tactics in response to current trading results including managing an accurate reforecast process.Lead the end-to-end critical path to ensure launch dates are metManage, coach, develop & support buyers assistant and support staffManage department marketing critical path ensuring all cross-functional stakeholders are kept across relevant details in a timely mannerIdentify opportunities and implement actions derived through trade analysis.Leverage customer insights and data to optimize sales.What are we looking for? The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business or Retail with at least 4 years' experience in Buying / Design / Product Development in a specialty retail environment. Demonstrated ability to lead a supplier and sourcing strategy is essential, as is experience in implementing merchandise strategy and trading business within season along with solid understanding of the total retail landscape and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
