About the RoleThe Business Support Officer coordinates and undertakes a range of administrative functions to support the Executive Director, Strategic Policy and External Relations. The role provides excellent client and service delivery to a range of internal and external stakeholders, and gives advice on the delivery of administrative procedures, systems and workflows which support the achievement of efficient work practices for the office, the directorate and across the broader Division. The Business Support Officer role demands a high level of confidentiality, discretion and judgement, and is subject to periods of high intensity workload, with rapidly changing priorities, where meeting deadlines is essential.
Full-time 12 months contract positionCollaborative and team focused environmentAdelaide CBD locationOpportunity for participating in leadership professional developmentContributing to interesting projectsKey Responsibilities Coordinate and manage administrative functions for the Office of the Executive Director.Support the flow of communications through the SPER Executive Office, including managing a general inbox and all electronic workflows, coordinating the preparation of advice, correspondence, briefings and submissions.Consult with the Senior Policy Advisor and Executive Assistant to ensure correct information and priorities are delivered.Manage, implement, and support the cyclical review of business procedures and systems for the Executive Director and the Office of the Executive Director, to enable effective and responsive process and communications between the Division, department and external stakeholders.Support the Business Manager in financial and budget forecasting.Support the Business Manager in the planning, management and review of systems for workforce planning, human resource management, and performance development planning for the Office of the Executive Director.Build and sustain positive working relationships with a range of key stakeholders across the Division and department, to support and inform business needs and delivery for the Office of the Executive Director.Undertake efficient file, information and records management functions including maintaining effective information storage, file tracking and retrieval systems, databases and effective information and communications systems management.Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by taking personal accountability by identifying and reporting incidents, hazards and injuries in accordance with Department for Education policy & procedure, and cooperating and complying with reasonable instructions of department line management and WHS Officers.Skills & Experience High level of interpersonal skills and communication skills, which results in effective and appropriate written and verbal communication with a range of audiences, including the ability to exercise diplomacy, manage sensitive issues and information, and maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.Experience coordinating and undertaking a range of administrative functions for senior levels within a large business unit, including coordinating responses to correspondence and briefings, with strong records management focus.Proven ability to work collaboratively under limited direction as a team member as well as independently, use initiative and judgement to resolve problems, prioritise and coordinate workloads to meet critical timelines.Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to work with broad direction, exercise significant levels of initiative and judgement, manage high volumes of work with competing demands with the utmost attention to detail.Apply Now To register your interest, please forward your current resume and cover letter via the application link.
