Position Description Business Support Officer - Continuous Improvement Purpose The primary emphasis of this role centres around supporting continuous improvement
objectives across the organisation.
In line with our unwavering commitment to the City of Marion, you will play a pivotal role in
helping to deliver exceptional service to our community. Your role will involve a
consistent, intelligent, and efficient approach to your daily responsibilities, upholding the
organisation's values and purpose.
By assuming this role, you will play a significant part in the City of Marion's efforts to drive
excellence and continuous improvement across the business to reduce administrative
burden and find efficiencies, thereby furthering council's commitment to improving business
outcomes.
Key Deliverables The Business Support Officer - Continuous Improvement is responsible for the
administrative support for the Continuous Improvement Program and Framework
implementation. The role will support the Continuous Improvement Working Group and
Project Sponsors in the delivery of the program whilst capturing efficiencies gained. The
position will provide business support to:
The development and implementation of a Continuous Improvement Framework. The Manager, Office of the CEO in leading the Continuous Improvement Program. Executive and Senior leaders responsible for various continuous improvement initiatives. The Continuous Improvement Working Group including the agenda, minutes and actions process of this group. Reporting requirement and coordination of reports to ELT regarding continuous improvement initiatives. Documenting process maps for continuous improvement initiatives. Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators related to continuous improvement activities. Person Specification Proficient in the Microsoft 365 suite. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Familiar with continuous improvement methodologies. Proven ability to innovate and think creatively. Experience working with cross-functional teams. Ability to create processes and process maps. Lean Six Sigma training to a yellow belt or equivalent. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Experience in change management processes. Desirable criteria Office 365 (Visio). Lean Six Sigma training to a black belt. Bachelor's degree in business and/or change management. SharePoint proficiency. Standard conditions Satisfactory completion of a National Police Clearance (will be arranged by the City of Marion). Satisfactory completion of applicable Medical Assessment (will be arranged by the City of Marion). Must be either an Australian resident or possess the legal right to work in Australia, with the ability to provide documentation of a valid work visa. Comply with existing Work, Health and Safety legislation and regulation obligations and apply "Think Safe Live Well" philosophy. Embrace ethical and moral behavior and report any suspected instances of fraud and/or corruption in accordance with Fraud and Corruption Management and the Code of Conduct.
