Your Role
Joining the Direct Insurance Australia (DIA) Strategic Enablement team as a Specialist, the purpose of the role is to enable the delivery of divisional strategy and business plan development and oversee its realisation via execution plans.
This will be achieved by engaging across the Division and wider Group to devise plans, by prioritising and monitoring activity critical to the Division's success; and applying strategic business performance frameworks to underpin divisional strategies, plans, reporting, and decisions.
Key responsibilities:
Support of the planning cycle through planning, execution, enablement and reporting.
Solve complex business problems by applying a structured, hypothesis-led approach to problem solving.
Determine and design appropriate analytical frameworks, and source relevant data points to conduct analyses.
Engage with the senior leadership team to build buy-in and support to proposed approach and recommendations.
Evaluate strategic options and clearly articulate the key implications to Direct Insurance Australia and IAG.
Synthetise key insights and findings, and translate them into actionable recommendations for the business.
Support development and coordination of divisional strategic business performance reporting.
Support development, communication and execution of divisional planning frameworks, including continuous business planning activities.
Develop board-level presentations and communicate complex ideas in a compelling and succinct way.
Undertake research on a number of topics and different business models (e.g.
new revenue streams, cost benchmarking, digitisation, among others).
This is a permanent, full-time role based in Sydney NSW.
About You
Depth of expertise in a similar in-house corporate strategy and/or planning role in a large, listed organisation, or relevant experience in management consulting, transformation or Big 4 Transactions/Corporate Finance advisory role.
University degree (ideally with an honours qualification) with post-grad qualification desirable – e.g.
CA, CPA, CFA or MBA.
Experience in the insurance industry (preferred but not mandatory).
Demonstrable experience with strategic frameworks and planning methodologies.
Highly advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by outstanding communication and teamwork attitude.
Proven ability to autonomously structure and drive complex, and often ambiguous, analyses/projects/requests with limited supervision, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing needs.
Proficient at simplifying complex ideas in written and verbal communication, with proven ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations to senior executives.
Excellent financial modelling skills, with the ability to structure, design and develop insightful and flexible financial models to support strategic decision making and recommendations.
Highly structured style, displaying a results-oriented approach and the intellectual capability to grasp and apply new concepts quickly.
Collaborative approach to working with different teams.
Detail-oriented and focused on accuracy.
