The teamThe Finance Group provides a range of strategic advice and financial support services to both internal and external stakeholders. Finance assists with resource management, business planning and decision making, ensuring compliance with statutory financial reporting obligations, and contributing significantly to strategic and enterprise level projects.
The Business Planning team leads the development of business plans that translate strategic objectives into tangible initiatives delivered over multiple years aligned to budgeted funding levels. The team ensures that ASIC follows a 'best in class' approach to business planning and delivery methodology.
The roleAs a Business Planning Adviser, you will be responsible for:
Supporting ASIC's organisational strategy through assisting the Senior Manager in coordination of business planning; stakeholder engagement, guidance and ensuring adherence with performance reporting requirements.Critically analysing business planning and performance metric data, with the ability to organise and disseminate qualitative and quantitative information with strong attention to detail and accuracy.Establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with stakeholders involved in business planning and project management.Ensuring good governance principles and alignment of ASIC's business plan to the corporate plan, annual report, and portfolio budget statements.Supporting the definition and development of future business plans and strategy that meet the long-term goals of ASIC.Preparing quarterly analysis for Executive Directors and Commission to provide insight into the progress on business plans across the performance year.Collaborating with teams across ASIC to build capabilities in business planning, develop project milestones and other performance indicators to enable meaningful reporting and analysis of performance.Ensuring key frameworks, processes and procedures are documented, including identifying areas for improvement and optimisation.About youRelevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business Management, or other relevant discipline.Strong analytical skills with the ability to organise, analyse and disseminate information with strong attention to detail and accuracy.Demonstrated experience implementing process improvement and achieving successful change.Experience supporting multi-year business plans within a complex corporate or government environment.Experience in implementing, enhancing and documenting an organisation-wide process for business planning and/or project delivery.Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management experience including building, maintaining, and utilising networks and relationships and ability to partner and work effectively with other ASIC teams to meet objectives.Experience in measuring business plan progress and outcomes and preparing insights reporting at an organisational-wide level.Demonstrated organisational and time management skills and the ability to work to meet deadlines while managing several competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Power BI, Visio, and SharePoint knowledge an advantage.About ASICASIC regulates corporations, markets, financial services and consumer credit, and monitors and promotes market integrity and consumer protection in the Australian financial system.
