Our specially trained doctors, nurses and aircrew use helicopters, turbo prop aircraft, aeromedical jets and patient transport vehicles to provide critical support to over 8,500 patients each year.The roleWe currently have an opportunity for a Business Finance Partner to join the organisation and become a key member of CareFlight's Finance team.Reporting to the Group Commercial Manager, your key objectives for the role will be to deliver all aspects of management reporting as required for Fundraising, Education & Clinical, as well as ensuring financial data integrity to improve financial performance. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Preparation of standardised monthly financial reporting, annual budgets, forecasting, scenario analysis and provide support for consolidated Company board reporting in relation to Fundraising, Education & Clinical and their key contracts and grants.Review of monthly financial performance against key contracts and preparation of accurate and timely commentary against budget or forecast for senior management to highlight emerging trends and provide insights on key performance drivers to assist in their decision making.Ensure all potential risks and opportunities are highlighted well in advance and quantified.Review and interpret all documentation relating to Fundraising & Education which will influence the timing of revenue recognition under AASB 15 and 1058, clearly document revenue recognition rules and ensure it is correctly recorded in the actuals and in any budgets/forecast projections.Preparation of required monthly journals including accruals for Fundraising, Education & Clinical.Timely preparation of any assigned balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring reconciling items are dealt with appropriately.Financial support of day-to-day business operations including investigation, analysis, and other ad hoc reporting as required relating to Fundraising, Education & Clinical.Perform ad hoc analysis of proposals and business cases and their financial viability and help identify business opportunities and/or cost saving initiatives.Overseeing the raising of all customer invoicing for key revenue contracts in Fundraising & Education and follow up as required.Partner with stakeholders to provide value-added support and guidance.Assistance in external audit process including liaising with auditors and providing clear and accurate support/analysis as required.Assistance with inputs relating to Fundraising, Education & Clinical for preparation of weekly/monthly cashflow forecasting.To be successful in this role you will have the following:At least 5 years post graduate experience in business planning and commercial analysis ideally with education and/or fundraising sector exposure.CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) with a good understanding of AASB 15 and AASB 1058.Demonstrated experience in similar roles with strong commercial acumen, analytical and business partnering skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.Advanced excel and system skills.Excellent written and oral communication tailored to the audience.Ability to prioritise and plan workload and be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.Proficient with Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.Able to work autonomously.Ability to communicate with people at all levels (internal and external) and influence stakeholders.Strong customer service mindset with a team player mentality.High degree of professional integrity, proactive with can-do attitude, demonstrates initiative and willingness to learn.The following will be highly regarded:Experience using Sage Intacct, Adaptive and Power BI.Experience in organisations where labour is a significant business cost driver and complex with awards/EBAs.Experience within the Not For Profit sector including preparation of financial components of grant acquittals.Some background in Big 4, Mid-Tier professional accounting practices as well as commerce.Demonstrated experience in proactively taking steps to improve existing processes, procedures and systems.How to applyIf you would like to be part of our team, you can apply using the link below.
