The Mount Isa Water Board is seeking a Business Operations Manager who has a passion for problem solving and working in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
This senior administration role is responsible for ensuring the seamless functioning of human resources, administration, information technology systems, office management, and centralised support operations.
Reporting directly to the General Manager – Corporate & Governance, the role provides critical operational support to a diverse range of stakeholders, including employees, executive leadership, directors, and customers.
This position requires exceptional organisational skills, adaptability, and a solution-focused mindset.
The role will contribute to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation's internal business processes.
The Business Operations Manager will manage transactional human resource tasks, such as training administration, higher duties, and on-call arrangements, oversee administrative functions such as travel, and manage corporate technology systems, cybersecurity, and hardware to ensure employees have seamless access to critical ICT.
With responsibility for a small team, this role will prepare executive reports and foster collaboration and stakeholder engagement to drive organisational success.
Please note, that this role is a full-time (Monday – Friday) permanent position residentially based in Mount Isa (North West Queensland).
FIFO and remote options are not available; however, hybrid working arrangements (including work from home) are available for candidates residentially based in Mount Isa, up to two days per week.
About the Person A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Administration, ICT, or a related field.Strong experience in HR administration, IT coordination, and operational management.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR Information Systems.Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.A natural curiosity and proactive approach to problem-solving.What's on Offer
