About the role: We currently have a rare and exciting opportunity to join our Finance team as a Business Operations Finance Assistant in a full time and permanent capacity based at our Glen Waverley office.
This position will assist the Senior Finance Business Partner to support and provide advice in regard to strategic and operational decision making to drive business performance and improvements.
In addition, further responsibility areas of the role will include assisting with key components of the Business Operations Finance function such as preparation of the annual budget, forecasting, monthly business reporting and annual regulatory reports.
Please note that this role is based at our Glen Waverley office with travel to our CBD office also required.
What you'll deliver in this role: Be able to understand the business, its value drivers and its policies & practices and build effective working relationships with key stakeholders Review results of relevant business areas with stakeholders ensuring the information is high quality, results are well understood, and supporting analysis is provided Improve monthly reporting to identify key trends and key analysis for business units Support in the delivery of monthly business unit reports, to appropriate level of quality and efficiency and with sufficient insight to allow appropriate decisions to be made.
Support the preparation of the budgets, forecasts and 10 year plans for your business unit portfolio challenging the business to ensure that all necessary items are included within targeted expenditure levels Deliver on an expectation of continuous improvement of processes and performance.
To succeed in the role, you'll have: Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, finance or accounting Working towards CPA/CA is preferred Knowledge of general accounting policies and procedures Working knowledge of SAP (or similar ERP system) Strong communication/interpersonal skills to interact effectively with key stakeholders Strong excel and power-point skills Prior accounting experience is preferrable, but not mandatory.
