We invite you to apply for the pivotal role of Business Manager within the Properties Facilities and Development (PF&D) portfolio.An exciting opportunity exists for a Business Manager to join Curtin University to provide executive support and business advice to the Director and PF&D executive team.
Acting as the key liaison officer with internal service providers to ensure the efficient and effective management of PF&D operations, you will engage with external stakeholders to support the delivery of PF&D's activities and objectives.In this role you will be responsible for ensuring effective delivery of services to support PF&D's activities by liaising and working collaboratively with University service groups and by implementing services and processes, as well as coordinating resources and activities to ensure initiatives and projects are planned, managed and objectives are met.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership: Line management of 13 direct reports across the 3 teams; Administrative Services, Customer Help Desk team and the Drawing Services team, providing leadership, guidance and management of staff.Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop business plans that meet diverse stakeholder demands, driving the university's strategic outcomes.Operational Excellence: Coordinate the review and implementation of best practices across the portfolio, ensuring alignment with our objectives.Issue Management: Identify and address emerging strategic issues impacting PF&D's effectiveness, collaborating with leadership to develop actionable plans.Project Management: Oversee the planning and execution of PF&D project initiatives and ensuring optimal resource allocation.What will you bring?Relevant tertiary qualification and extensive relevant experience; or extensive management experience and expertise within a complex organisation; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training;Experience in a leadership and management role with demonstrated achievement of results through the tactical use of resources to support business needs;Demonstrated experience in business planning through detailed research and analysis on a range of issues and the ability to develop, implement and evaluate business improvement strategies;Demonstrated ability to manage and implement change;Demonstrated team leadership and management skills with the ability to create and maintain an effective customer focused and efficient team culture;A strong understanding of financial and budget management.Role Requirements:As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin's satisfaction.Your new Team:Properties, Facilities & Development plays an important role in ensuring Curtin's physical presence enables ongoing transformation and supports the University's vision to be a recognised global leader in research, education and engagement.About Curtin University:We are an energetic, dedicated team of academics and professionals working together to provide global solutions through quality graduates and innovative research.
