We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Business Manager for a full-time permanent position commencing 20 January 2025. As the Business Manager at Varsity College, you will be an integral part of our leadership team, providing high level strategic advice, analysis and support to the Executive Principal and College community in relation to financial planning and budgeting, human resource management for over 400 staff; facilities, operations, capital works and asset management. You will lead and manage the strategic operations of the school to ensure that day-to-day financial, physical, and school support resources are managed professionally to align with College and departmental priorities.

About the Role:
Under the direction and leadership of the Executive Principal, in your role as Business Manager you will:
Lead the delivery of school-wide corporate and support services in a large and complex split campus College environment. Provide high-level strategic advice to the Executive Principal and wider Leadership team regarding the development and ongoing management of the school's annual budget in accordance with operational plans, and effectively analyse and report on financial performance against agreed objectives. Manage significant minor and major capital works projects, negotiate with external contractors to ensure accountability for school maintenance, and develop and implement initiatives for facilities management, asset maintenance, and replacement plans. Lead and manage human resources for school support staff and provide advice on a diverse range of human resource management practices (e.g., employee relations, recruitment, payroll, workplace health and safety, code of conduct, and performance management). Critically analyse, review and refine systems and processes in line with continuous improvement practices, and shape new policy directions for the school. Develop and implement business strategy, and engage in extensive risk planning and contingency management. Interested?
