Job Description Carmel School is seeking an experienced and strategic Business Manager to join their leadership team. The Business Manager plays a crucial role in managing the school's financial, operational and administrative functions, ensuring efficient use of resources to support the school's educational aims.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the school's financial and non-financial operations, overseeing areas including finance, IT, HR, facilities, legal, canteen and uniform shopWork closely with the Principal and senior management team to provide strategic leadershipDevelop and implement strategic plans in alignment with the School's missionDevelop and monitor budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and providing financial analysis to support decision-makingConduct financial analysis to support decision making, including financial modelling, scenario analysis and sensitivity testingEnhance Board and management financial reporting with dashboards, balance scorecards and graphical analysis to identify trends and draw out key insightsProduce timely and accurate Financial ReportingCoordinate risk management strategies, legal matters, and external audit activitiesOversee human resources, including payroll, recruitment, performance management and staff development for the non-teaching teamManagement of IT through an external providerOversee the management of school facilities, ensuring safety and compliance with relevant legislationEnsure smooth operation of the school's canteen, uniform shop and other key servicesLead key projects and initiatives related to operational improvementsThe Successful Applicant The successful applicant will have:
Proven experience in a senior finance role with responsibility for various corporate functions
Expertise in financial management, including budgeting, financial planning and analysis
Strong strategic planning abilities
Strong leadership, management and communication skills
In-depth knowledge of human resources management, legal compliance and risk management
Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including staff, the Board, external partners and parents
