Queanbeyan, Southern Highlands & Tablelands NSW Management (Community Services & Development) Rise Above - Capital Region Cancer Relief is a charitable not-for-profit organisation operating in the Canberra region.
The group relies on fundraising, community partners, the generosity of businesses and the local community, to meet the needs of the increasing number of families that require our assistance.
Rise Above aims to support cancer patients and their families through the provision of financial assistance, which specifically addresses the cancer patient's medical prognosis/treatment program.
Each case is treated on its merits at the time of application.

Due to the nature of the role, this position may require additional hours and work outside of normal office hours from time to time, especially during major fundraising events.
Award: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 Grade: Social and Community Services Employee Level 4 Duties and responsibilities: Working with the team the Business Manager will: The Business Manager manages client/patient liaison and service delivery with the assistance of the Patient Services Coordinator/Admin Officer.
They will manage the administration of the office including financial administration.
This also includes organising and supporting our fundraising activities throughout the year.
Required skills and experience : Demonstrated superior customer service skills, high degree of empathy and ability to always represent Rise Above in a professional manner, including dealing with difficult or sensitive enquiries.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, as well as ability to build rapport quickly and sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Demonstrated computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
Excellent database and data entry skills, with experience in CRM databases.
Solid attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Proven skills in time management, organisation and prioritisation of competing deadlines.
Ability to contribute as an active team member and to work well with others.
Desired skills and experience : Understanding of the challenges facing people undergoing cancer treatment.
Experience in working in a small organisation.
Experience in working to a volunteer board of management.
Experience with MYOB will be well considered.
The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain the following: a current Working with Vulnerable People registration (Rise Above will pay for this, if you do not already have one) Covid19 vaccination (at least two shots, a booster is highly recommended) a current First Aid Certificate (Rise Above will pay for this, if you do not already have one) The successful applicant will have access to not-for-profit salary packaging, meals and entertainment benefits.
