Workplace Location: QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role: You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry in a fixed-term temporary position for 6 months. You will ensure financial integrity, manage administrative processes, and provide critical insights for strategic decision-making.
Defined Duties and skills: Analyse end of month results to provide relevant information for Regional and Executive Directors, determining accruals and journals required for end of month and financial year processes as determined by Corporate Finance.Prepare accurate and detailed financial data and reports, including data analysis and distribution to the region; assist with inquiries related to debt management; undertake financial tasks such as annual audits, coordination of billing, project/work order profitability analysis, productivity reporting, monthly and annual reconciliations, and implementing financial policies advised by Corporate Finance.Effectively manage administrative and financial support staff, including the allocation of duties to ensure adequate administration support, and provide guidance on Work Order Management practices for the SEQ Region.Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of staff.Manage the development and implementation of work procedures, protocols, and instructions, and arrange training as required.Maintain knowledge of financial and administrative standards, policies, and procedures to ensure QBuild's compliance with relevant government legislative and procedural requirements, including Freedom of Information requests; support and monitor disaster management financial arrangements as required; contribute to operational and strategic planning, client reporting, and provide input for Ministerial briefings, estimates briefings, RTI requests, and other requests from the Deputy Director General's office or the Executive Director.Preferred skills and experience: Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.Although there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, qualifications in accountancy or a similar field will be considered favourably.All applicants must be eligible to work in Australia.
